Fatigue... or more correctly EXHAUSTION

I am so tired all of the time. I work full-time and have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. My husband works full-time too and has crazy hours some days.
I am having a hard time coping with this exhaustion. I find on my days off I just sleep. I am not being the mom I want to be. How do you guys deal with this?
Workdays are so hard because I am exhausted from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed. I sleep fairly well, although I do wake up a number of times due to back/hip pain (unrelated injury).
Any tips on how to get through the days? I want to be more active and more capable of being the mom I want to be. My daughter even drew me a picture, of myself, in bed!! That’s how they know me these days and I hate that.

I know exactly how you feel. I often came home from a full day at work and just collapsed in my chair and slept till supper. But in your case as a wife with small children your job is even more intense. There are no real easy answers for the fatigue. It’s just the effects of the liver disease. The more the disease progresses, you will have more days like this. I do encourage you to try and get in a good 30 minutes a day at least of some form of core strengthening exercise, even if it’s just walking around your yard, riding a bike or something. You need to keep your strength up…so important for the possibility of needing a transplant one day. Make sure you are getting enough protein in your diet.
Are you experiencing any muscle wasting yet, weight loss, etc? I know that the disease causes some awful nausea and you don’t feel like eating certain foods, can’t stand some smells, etc…It’s more important that you keep your caloric intake up when you get to this point than worrying to death about a perfectly healthy diet. Often I couldn’t stand the smell of food. It got so bad my wife cooked out on our back porch when she needed to cook hamburgers, do stir-fry, etc. for my sake. Yet, I could go to McDonalds and I just loved to eat that. At that point it didn’t matter as long as I ate something to keep me going.

Let your children, small as they are do the chores they can. Even getting your 7 year old to rub your feet every evening, take a hot bath, anything like that to feel better is so encouraging and helpful. Engage everyone in your family to help mommy

Thanks for the response fcmmark.
I haven’t experienced any weight loss or muscle wasting (that I know of). I’ve actually gained weight. Perhaps stress?
I just got back from my GI who is did some blood work and hopefully we will be able to see what exactly is going on. I’m just so tired.
