I'm trying to learn more about this disease, so I can be knowledgeable around my partner when we discuss it and plan for the future.
I'll be reading a significant amount of medical journals on the subject, and these can be pretty difficult to understand. I'm hoping this forum can help me understand some of what I'm reading about.
He's in his 20's and was diagnosed a few years ago. He's had his appendix removed, his galbladder removed, and his sphincter of oddi as well. I was curious to know if any of you could tell me what that might hint at medically, and what the causes for such removals might have been. He sometimes avoids the subject, very understandably.
Anyway his doctor said that he'd be fine until his late 40's or early 50's, but I want to make sure that we can do everything possible to alleviate symptoms and keep him healthy.
I thank you all for your help.
